Safety Administrator

As part of their best practice and commitment to service excellence, they are hiring a permanent, part-time, Safety Administrator position.

 

Responsibilities:

The Safety Administrator will be responsible for identifying areas of improvement in efficiency, cost and quality and all aspects of providing a safe work place in the company’s operations.

  • Establishing and maintaining safety process control guidelines for all Ermen Plumbing and Heating employees in office and on job sites
  • Making recommendations for equipment and product design changes to reduce cost, improve quality and improve productivity
  • Provide ongoing Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) training for staff
  • Act as OH&S auditor and company trainer
  • Conduct incident/accident investigations and deal with employee work refusals
  • Manage Workplace Compensation Board claims and return to work programs
  • Development and implementation of Safety Policy & Programs
  • Development and implementation of Safety training programs
  • Timely documentation, investigation and reporting of all safety related incidents
  • Gather, interpret and present safety statistics by department, plant and how they relate to the industry
  • Customer relations support activities
  • Billing and other administrative support functions supporting workflow

 

Qualifications:

  • A strong commitment and clear understanding of health & safety
  • Experience in a construction environment
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate innovation and good judgment/problem solving skills
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office Suite, and other client management systems
  • Excellent understanding of WHMIS and provincial safety regulations
  • Safety Construction Certification preferred
  • WHIMIS, First Aid Certified preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License required
